Paolo was born in Verona, Italy, in 1994. Already at the age of 5 Paolo starts studying percussion, and his passion for music pushes him to pursue his studies up to his Conservatory diploma obtained in 2019.
Over the summer of 2019, he attends Berklee at Umbria Jazz Clinics, Umbria Jazz Festival’s summer seminars.
Here, among more than 240 participants, he is selected for an audition for admission to the four-year course at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has been admitted with a scholarship… the dream comes true!

The Berklee College of Music in Boston is among the most important institutes in the world dedicated to the study of jazz and modern American music.
Since its foundation, in 1945, it has been considered the main point of reference for musical, performative, and technological innovation.
There are many artists from different musical backgrounds who have studied or taught in this college.
At Berklee, Paolo would have the opportunity to deepen the study of the Vibraphone, a relatively young instrument with a completely peculiar history and not comparable to other musical instruments. In Italy, in fact, there are still no study courses dedicated entirely to the vibraphone.
WHAT IS THE VIBRAPHONE
The vibraphone is a percussion instrument built for the first time in the United States in the early 1900s. It is part of the family of idiophone instruments, whose sound is produced by the vibration of the body of the instrument itself: in the case of the vibraphone, its metal keys produce the sound, when they are struck with the sticks.
Why “vibraphone”? Because the sound “vibrates”: under the keys the instrument is equipped with resonance pipes that open/close through the fans, thus creating the vibrato effect that characterizes the sound of this instrument.
