DANCE BFA AT THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL OF NEW YORK CITY

Born in Verona, Lidia began studying dance at Vic Ballet Academy at the age of 8. In the summer of 2015 she attended the Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive in New York, an experience that prompted her to prepare for the audition for the four-year BFA program.

She was admitted to the Juilliard School in New York in 2017. However, despite the scholarship she was awarded by Juilliard, the fee for the academic year is very high and unsustainable for the family, who therefore decided to launch an online fundraiser.

In addition, a network of companies, foundations, and individuals, are currently supporting her studies, becoming her “mecenati”, her patrons.

Overview

The Juilliard School is a dance, music, and theater conservatory founded in 1905 and located in Lincoln Center, a performing arts district of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, in New York City.

It is considered worldwide as one of the best colleges in the sector, as it offers some of the most prestigious courses in the performing arts.

Admission to the Juilliard School is highly competitive: in 2015, 2,657 applied for admission and only 7.2% of the latter was accepted. Juilliard accepts 12 female and 12 male dancers per year.

Among the pupils who have had the most success in their lives are names like Ohad Naharin, Paul Taylor, Danielle Brooks, Samira Wiley, and Robin Williams.

The dance department was founded in 1951 and offers a diploma in Fine Arts at the end of a four-year course.
